Re: LRP fuel / Unleaded.
Definitly worth discussing, because I have no idea what the problems would be if I had to run unleaded on my car.

It will be discontinued eventually but will be replaced with a similar product - like Shell Unleaded Extra - specifically for older vehicles. Products like Wynns Valve Guard or William Penn Valve Ease can also be used with regular unleaded fuel.

I remember reading somewhere that the chemicals added to LRP to replace the lead aren't as good as lead. And that they vary between petrol providers.
It may be worth having your head done so you can run on unleaded...

That's how I roll. Down the hill 'cause the car won't start and the brakes don't work.

Re: LRP fuel / Unleaded.
From what I have read, unless there is a particularly imprtant reason (originality etc) just get the head(s) done. Seems like the additives are a pain to source and use, and are mostly ineffective.
Valve seat recession is not that fast - your car is not going to stop over night - if you drive small distances you can live with the wear till it suits you to pull the heads off.

Re: LRP fuel / Unleaded.
As soon as my car is done I will most likely be using it as a daily driver.
If we take that I will be driving around a 1000 kilometers a months is there anyone that can give me an idea of how long I will be able to drive the Fairlane on Unleaded Fuel before I will have to look at doing the Heads. I know there are many variables but just an indication will suffice.
Thanks.

Also look here.

Got from Escort forum.
Henry I'm sure you'll be able to drive some time, provided you put relevant additives in tank.
