Post by BIGSIX » Thu 21 Oct 2010, 10:10

Hi All,

Do any of you know where in the West Rand there are V8 shoppes for spares and accessories?

I know of RS performance and US Connection, are there any other and contact info if you have.

Thanks

I am looking for a shop closer to me to get a HEI or electronic distributor for my 350.

My Bakkie runs great but as soon as you hammer it for a few seconds the coil starts fouling and overheating.

Bakkie run on all 8 at full tilt and then it just dies completely or starts firing on 6 or 4 cylinder.

First I though it was the carb overheating, so I closed the exhaust port running through the intake, still same problem so I changed the Black Coil to a new Bosch Blue High output Coil, Worked better for the first 3 runs then started to do the same thing. So I am know looking at getting a Electronic Distributor to see if that will sort the problem.

Check you plugs wires. If they've got a slight resistance, this resistance may increase as temp increases. Do your leads get hot as well?

I will give you a shout next time to see if you can help, I am still waiting to hear if you have a 38 Weber butterfly throttle gear(the gear that works the first butterfly and runs on the second one to open. I asked about it a few months back and you guys were going to let me know if you found anything?
