This is the problem in ZA, things can be printed in National puplications and people read it and say nothing. Years down the line this text gets refered to plus the information becomes so emphatic it's almost like a religious issue. The level of reporting in some puplications is beginning to become very poor. And surpising the editors are not exactly substandard. Hence these sources of miss-information should begin to know there are some people out there with average IQ's and it won't be worth their while punting information without douing their homework. many of us have gathered info through many years, much reading, experiences and all that. There's no short cut, or at least the short cuts are this noinsense that gets printed sometimes.

A very valid point, the correct info is out there and its not that difficult to find but methinks as we have seen is that the truth can be very "inconvenient" to some people.

At the moment I am busy doing research on Willie Meissner for an article I am hoping to send off to Classic Car Africa....

You do know Henry ? If not let me know as I would imagine he has a very extensive information base as well as having lived through it. He's pals of Louis who has the Meisner car and races the copy.

Thanks for the compliment I am CPT V8 on the other forum, there is much I dont know but these forums are fantastic for spreading knowledge. Now I need some education in Fairmont GT's.....

Well well well....small world isn't it?

Good thing I didn’t gossip about you. :D :D :D I’m glad you’re here as well…Age is not important at all. Maturity is what counts. And on these forums…knowledge. And if you don’t have enough, like me, then you learn. These forums are the best places to learn more about the cars you love, provided the information that is published is correct. Then again...if its not, someone will correct you, and THAT’S when we all learn. No need to fight or get aggressive.
Problem is…I’m getting addicted to this forum. First thing I do when I get home from work. Made a decision (although difficult) NOT to do so in work hours.

Very small world but this forum really is great, there is a huge ammount of potential here both for learning and to create a huge base of enthusiasts of Muscle cars and V8 cars in general. The way I approach forums is simple, type as if you were actually speaking to the person.

I strongly feel that there is a huge ammout we dont know about SA cars and specific cars that a forum like this is invaluable. :D

Another XR8, not orginal but a very nice replica of "The Animal" owned by a total enthusiast, this car is so clean you can eat off the underbody....

Henry is a walking encyclopedia. They are completely Escort mad and Ford Fundementalists. I cautiously got to them as a GM brought up person still religiously General Motor's. But yes they are a great bunch and hence found a home for the Firenza's !

These forums have become addictive, it was ok while raining but now is messing with "practical Classic's" time.
