Re: V8 ford capri project
Ok, so its been a very long time since i got any work done on this project, reason being that i got a new job, new girlfriend, bought a new car, moved into my own place in jhb.
its now come to the point that things have finally stabilized and i might have some extra money to spend on my project.
unfortunately there is no space at my own house so the car is still at my parents house in Pretoria. the current state of the car is still the same as in my last post, i never got to paint it and will now have to do a lot of work to get it ready for paint again.
furthermore my dad started packing lots of junk around the car to free up space in the workshop next door.
I was an idiot when i left the project and did not close up the engine properly, wasps have since build clay nests inside my cylinder heads, engine will have to be taken apart for inspection and cleaning.
i'm planing on getting the car painted ASAP, i'm having a look at what is needed to continue and how i can move stuff around to have space in the workshop again this weekend. I've got some leave that i need to take before financial year end so hopefully will be able to get the car painted in that time.
I'm planing on taking small parts back home to work on in spare time, bumpers, grill, dashboard etc.
the main thing is that i have not given up on this project and am not planing to do so.

Re: V8 ford capri project
Hi everyone,
Sooo, my Capri has been standing collecting dust for years. But I'm proud to say that I'm finally back at it. Over the last few weeks I have cleaned up the workshop. Sanded down the entire car, addressed rust points and any other dents that it picked up over the years while standing. Its a 80km drive from my house to where the car is located but I'm trying to get some work done every weekend. The car should soon be ready for paint again.
I'm also still looking for some parts. I need the following:
- diff, would be nice to get one I can just install and don't have to modify or build.
- 4 barrel carb + inlet manifold
- exhaust headers
- engine mountings
- shifter for the automatic box
Please feel free to PM me should you have any of the above to sell.
