I thought this might make a nice post, what have been your motoring highlights in 2017, or how was your motoring year?
Me, after years of searching and some courage I decided to buy a supercharged Lumina, it was an itch I had since 2005. What I have landed up with has lived up to my expectations. Yes, its a bit uncouth at time, sets cars alarms off in underground parking lots and drinks like a pack of Australians at a bar but it makes me smile. It has a lump idle and when you accelerate and lift off you are greeted by pops and bangs from the exhaust. Its a throwback, a middle finger to the green party.
The open road is its home, you quickly realise it was built to cover vast distances, with 755 NM of toque overtaking is easy you sit there in comfort.
Looking to maybe add an addition to the fleet in 2018 if a few plans come through, people think I am mad to collect cars but they make me happy, despite the financial drain of running them all.
Was lucky enough to La Ferrari Aperta this year as well a spent quite a lot of time driving a friends Ferrari 458 Speciale.
All in all a good motoring year.

Re: Your Motoring Year
Bought a ‘58 Apache which needed a lot more work than I thought, even though it was in what looked like great condition, but it is being done right and will be awesome. It is a nut and bolt rebuild. We’re currently busy with re-assembly and it’s going to be an absolute stunner.
Manage to finally get my ‘71 Plymouth Cuda and a convertible at that. It was meant to be as these cars never come up for sale in SA and even when they do you have to know somebody to know about it. This one was not for sale but I’ve managed to get it regardless and it is such a joy to drive.
It has been a good year for sure.

Re: Your Motoring Year
Did not give the attention to my cars it deserves this year, sadly.
Did take out the Capri's incedently this morning, first time touching them in a long time, v6 no brakes, v8 serious misfire seems to be a lifter gone or stuck valve.
Two of my mk1 Escorts has not driven in over five years, too scared to see what gremlins are waiting there.
AU Falcon started drinking oil, more than my wiskey account, seem to be valvestem seals.
Been thinking of selling either a Capri or my GLS Cortina to upgrade to something newer next year, no space left. After looking at them, think will once gain extend the carport to accommodate the newcomer.
Atthe end they are all under roof and snugly covered.
I seriously need to make more time for them in the new year.
