It is possible that the car was delivered CKD from Canada and not the USA.? Or vice versa! Remember the manual is from Canada!
1966 was the start of major changes at GMSA. We fitted anything that worked to get rid of outgoing models! 8O

The Biscayne and Belair was avalable as a 2 door sedan ("post" car).

The Impala was the "fastback" hardtop / sport coupe.

This does indeed make it strange, as the car in question has Impala taillights, and no Caprice model is listed in oom Johann's manual. Might the SA 2 door sedan's, have been US Caprice models?
Any which way, it will make a sweet muscle car build.
On the 1966: Impala and Caprice taillight ass'y's will swap back and forth. And I'm quite sure the Biscayne/Belair units have the same 'footprint' as well. :)

I had a good look at this advert and realized that this was a car I owned previously. Originally a 66 Impala 4 door pillar less. A friend bought it and converted to 2 door (doors were lengthened) . The car subsequently caught alight at a workshop and was sold, motor and gearbox removed. The only pic I could find - this was after I painted it.
