Mopar: Is this for EGR?

Hi,

I'm not clued up with all things Mopar yet and was wondering if these connections/ports relate to the exhaust gas recirculation system?





If not, what are their purpose?

The center small port is part of the exhaust cross-over to heat the carburetor and work the choke in very cold climates. Suggest leaving the gasket cross-over tab intact, blocking the passage, as we live in warm climate and don't need it.

The top hole is ported vacuum, that normally goes to the brake booster.

The Positive Crankcase Ventilation System is to siphon off blow-by vapors in your block. The pcv valve is normally fitted on one of the valve covers, and that ideally should feed to the big ported vacuum pipe in the base plate of the carburetor. If there is no pipe in the base plate, a "T" can be fitted to the ported vacuum hole.

As Simon says. George will have Felpro Valley-pan gaskets. You can get a gasket with heat risers blocked off, or DIY. Did mine myself...ads a couple horsies, and exhaust note deeper to .

Just make sure you get the 4 intake gaskets with the valley pan for superior sealing.

I did not us the extra gaskets, only a thin layer of gasket sealer (Locktite gray RTV) both sides of valley pan.

I have heard guys having endless sh!t with vacuum leaks when using the gaskets?
