GTV 3.0 help

Post by Maverick » Mon 21 Sep 2015, 15:17

Any ideas on how to verify a VIN number on an 84 GTV 3.0?

I e-mailed the AR registry in Italy, but they dont have VIN numbers on SA built cars.

thanks in advance :)

Dont know at this stage, but will find out from guys who had/has a 3.0 GTV's. The 3.0 cars was built over a period as there was cars with split or long dashboards. Looks like they pulled cars from production in batches. Dont think they built 200 cars with VIN's in sequence.

The older 101 and 105 bodies ID was easier to identify as for example a Veloce had a different prefix number than a normal car.

On the 116 and later I have no idea. Will have to find out.

I think he used to be involved there, not sure if he still is.

Yeah, also don't know.

I think I saw him about 3-4 years ago at a race meeting at Midvaal.
