Nice one Mark!

Shane Henderson at Baileigh regularly puts up this kind of thing. Here's another guy (you may need to be logged in to see pics) I've been watching for a couple of years
http://metalmeet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12301

Of course he only shows you guys who use his equipment. Their machines are really good, but not the only way to get metal shaped...

I could give a list as long as my arm of guys all over the world doing similar quality work, some mostly with hand tools. Start by Googling Jimmy Hervatin and be prepared to be blown away............. 8O 8O 8O 8O 8O 8)

Interestingly if I put together a list of the best metal shapers and fabricators in the world you probably wouldn't find a name or face you know from TV in the top 50. Ok maybe Moal would make it and maybe the guys from Marcel's, but they'd just scrape in.
Jesse James and Rick from OCC,who are the names I get thrown at me most often, are at best average, and I doubt JJ would be in the top 100 (the other guys doesn't even get on the radar). Food for thought about the TV shows...

Mark you should check out Mike Roberts down your end of the world if you don't already know of him...

Next time someone who bolted a Mustang or Camero(sic) back together and tells you how they "built" their car, show them this:

getting ever so close to being a stalker there Barry......and yes, Roberts is a magician, however, I can just about bet every town in New Zealand has a similar tin man hidden away in the back streets banging away with no fanfare or accolades bounced around on the interweb.....in fact I have a guy working on my thing at the moment who is the go-to for our local vintage community.....have seen him make a '37 guard out of a flat sheet of tin.....and he's just a young guy who offered to help out the locals when he moved into their street. Its got so bad that we've stopped telling people about him for fear he gets too busy to work on our stuff.....

No doubt Mark - his attention to detail puts him in the realm of Brian Bass, Jimmy Hervatin, Ian Berky and about a 100 others who most will likely ever hear of, or see on TV.......

That kind of talent exists all over the world, but it does fathom (and frustrate) me as to why we seem to see so little of it coming to the fore here in SA.....
