Question: were Porsche 928's LHD only? Why I wonder is I've never seen a pic of a right hook one even from the UK.

Bearhawke you get plenty RHD 928's mines LHD, but bonus German spec, so it comes with more horses and the better hides in stock.
Yip 928 you get a few motors and models basically 928 4.5L first ones, 928S 4.7L then the 928S"2" 4.7L 16V non interfering piston and valve if belt breaks motor should be ok, but newer electronics and ABS, the model I was lucky to find best value to me, as it's only 40HP less that the GTS with a 5.4L 32V multi vavles that cost much more as it's a rare produced model. You gotta work on one to soon see for it's age those scientist are too clever in Germany.
Plus they know as Sharks in th US, so having a white with black one is too good as our local Rugby team are called the Sharks and wear black and white colours. :mrgreen

Kallie in Welkom He is actually a very nice chap and i think its because these 928's go for a song ,he converted it into a supercar lookalike. I like the shape and he fitted a Lexus V8 that i like as well

Yip shame Kallie is King of Zef, but must say quite impressive work done to match the two, most mad 928 I've seen online is a local one where they dropped a VW Golf 2 body onto a 928 chassy, so there is a V8 Golf 2 around.

You lucky, I've only seen them on the 928 groups pic's mainly a Euro mod, But I prefer the original rear glass. Yip really amazing car shape design to me, as it's even freaking aero dynamic for heavy side cross winds. Plus I see a lot of the 928's basic shape in some latest Ferrari's so that's a real compliment to the designers from way back in the late 70's. I hope they do make a new 928 next year as some have speculated.

Porsche apparently makes most of its $$$ on Cayenne sales; the 911 and friends are more of a sideline today. But with the Panamera out; maybe a SWB coupe version could be a new '928'?

Revival of a not so old thread....

I am considering buying a 928 as they seem lot of car for little money, plus the added bonus of high/mid tech V8.
Will be looking at early 80's to later, all unfortunately higher mileage ones. The basic principle of service history applies to them as does with any "newer cars. The 4.5 V8's were "non interference" engines (no valve damage, cambelt break).

Spares are available through some local strippers, and from UK (Fleabay). From what I have researched, prices are not to bad. ( Klippie hit my BMW's windscreen, only small fix at PG, but R17000 on insurance claim to replace with new!!)
The engines seems capable of high mileage, with not to bad economy returned.

I would like your opinions on these (CRAIG!) My thoughts of getting a mk1 Cortina was dampened by availability, you can't get any!
