Making progress.
Put the engine back today, now for the zillion of pipes and wires.
Seems like 1,000 km from now I will be in for a big job to torque the head bolts. Seems like some parts like aircon ump will have to be removed to get to all the head bolts.
Here are some clear pictures for those who asked how the wet turbo works.

Just remember to keep it original i am in NEW ZEALAND and i have a 1981 Turbo Trans AM Made in Canada i have owned it over 30yrs in metallic blue and only done 50,000 kms and has 64 factory options keep up the good work.

Wet Turbo = I saw one of the Trans Am forums they call it a wet turbo.
The Turbo sucks air/fuel mixture through the carb and blow it into the engine. Thus it is not only clean air it is blowing like most turbos.

Where in the Country can I get a material I can use as a heat shield, something like a sheet of thick heat shield material?
The Trans Am has this metal heat shield between the Turbo and bonnet. Between the heat shield and bonnet use to be some fibre glass stuff which was extremely messy. I would like to use something more modern.
For now I used 10 meters of that tape you wrap around an exhaust, but I think it is going to move around eventually. Will prefer a sheet of similar material.
Getting there, car has been assembled, still have some minor issues to attend to. If all goes well I will drive her around the block for the first time tomorrow.

Will take some proper pics tomorrow. Yesterday I could not move it out of the garage because it stalled each time I put it in gear, but fixed the problem today.

Does anybody know where in South Africa can I find amber double contact globes.
This is the normal double contact, same as brake and park lights, but must be amber.

Down here no spare shops have it or can find for me, it is for the Pontiac, the front park lights doubles as indicator lights.
