Re: 1980 Pontiac Trans Am Turbo
I used to paint in my letters with a pen in the '80's but it doesn't last long before it needs doing again on a daily used car. I used to get them from Autoquip.
Cheers

Does anybody know what is the standard size battery the Trans Am takes? I got mine without a battery.

Take battery box / space dimensions and terminal orientation, give those to a battery supplier and they can supply you with the highest A/h rated batt for the space you have.
Probably anything from 70 -85 A/h will be sufficient.

Have just been catching up on this thread. Very nice restoration job! Amazed at the body pictures, many of these cars have lived quite tough lived but really the bare metal pictures the car appears to be really straight and there didn't seem to be any nasty surprises based on the pictures.

Yes the body is in very good condition. There were two places with a bit of body putty, but nothing serious. Otherwise it is still perfect. No rust on the body at all. When I assembled the body I sprayed Tectyl in the doors and all other openings I could find to make sure it stays this way. It was an up country car all its live.

A late friend of mine had a Trans AM turbo, the car went very well and I remember being amazed at the sheer size of the turbo that was fitted.pietpetoors wrote: ↑Sat 27 May 2017, 18:51Yes the body is in very good condition.
