Re: 57 Chevy Task force Truck
Not bike throttles, custom made 48 mm throttle body's with custom short ram tubes mounted on aluminum intake plate with gear mesh system to operate eccelerator cable and a custom fuel rail.....using Webber throttle housing and modifying internals....
Used custom so many times felt like Frikkied was visiting.... Hey I hope it works, time will tell. But with the way the rand has gone, have to be entrepreneurial. On my Chevelle we ordered plenty and build cost made me nauseous in the end. Here we are using as much local as possible. Had local aluminum tank made, making local radiator etc.
I am not going to pay school fees on local management system though, going to go with more expensive Megasquirt 3

Len if you're going with something like the mega squirt, why wouldn't you choose one of the self tuning/ self learning systems? Like the FAST EZ- EFI 2 or the Edelbrock E-STREET EFI? There's been so much success lately with those systems.

Re: 57 Chevy Task force Truck
Mark, honestly not my wheel house. I'm going with what the guys doing the build have recommended. What I do know is Dicktator and Dominator have had their share of negative feedback due to trouble shooting and poor back up.
I will investigate your suggestions and suggest the same to them, thank you.
But I suppose it's the devil you know. I think Mark is running the same on his car and Andrew planning same for his race truck hence the direction....

I suppose I'm only thinking about the self learning software for ease of setting up and use. But if I was going that route I would be attempting all that myself anyway. However the cost is quite a bit more for the self learning functionality.

I think we're talking a difference of R8000 for MS3 vs R40 000 for self learning

Re: 57 Chevy Task force Truck
So whilst the Rand Dollar is reasonably tame I need to order a few quick parts, some OEM some after market where's the best one stop shop price wise on trucks? LMC, Summit?? Any suggestions??

Re: 57 Chevy Task force Truck
I have used Summit for may parts, pricing is fair, shipping is a bit pricey - but very good & hassle free delivered to your door, their duty rates are a bit off - I think the couriers clearancing fees are also included. Best part is you don't have to deal with custdums
