1980 FORD F100
Re: 1980 FORD F100
Nice truck! Love the wheels! Did you buy it in Vanrhynsdorp or Klawer by any chance?
Times fun when you're having flies!
Re: 1980 FORD F100
Hi Kermit.
Yep I brought it down from Vanrhynsdorp on a trailer. That was quite a scary trip towing such a large load with over 100km of the road being under severe roadworks.
It was a "Plaas Bakkie" so everything was fixed with whatever was available on the farm. So there is a huge amount of proper replacement parts needed just to get her roadworthy again.
But I am loving every moment of the journey.

I went to school in Vanrhynsdorp. I think the guy who sold you the truck was in the same school, but he was a year or two ahead of me.

Hi Riaan you are doing a nice job. It will be good to see the engine in blue.
Now is the time to fit a ZF power steering box!
Rassie.

Hi Rassie.
That is the plan. If I get mine back from the steering recon shop in time. If not I will fit it next year when we strip her for spraying.
You don't perhaps have a spare F100 Pitmann arm that you are willing to modify to fit the ZF box and sell to me? I would like to have it all in place before I strip the old steering box off the truck. Also I heard that the guys use an Isuzu power steering pump with this setup, what pump setup would you advise I use with a stock 351C and how easy is it to adapt the brackets for my engine?
Cheers R.

Re: 1980 FORD F100
Hi IndianaJones.
That is a 4 door 4 cylinder that Oom Willie is building into a monster V8 with all the correct goodies.
I do not have all the specs but she is basically a complete rebuild only the shell is still the same everything else is new and extremely go fast. I will ask oom Willie for the specs.
ps. He hinted that she is for sale at the right price. I will ask him if I may take pics and I will post them. If I had the money available I would love to buy it. Drool!!!
