Thanks for the tip!! i would have messed it up, so I will hang the doors and fenders instead of laying them on a table or flat surface like the boot and bonet!

I have picked out the paint and as soon as I have finished the other projects will focus on my BigSix and get it painted.

I have found forum's like this one very helpfull where you can learn from other peoples mistakes and not your own, and share your mistakes to help someone else.

... I would just like to give a tip here, when you do the final spray-job and espesially if it's going to be metalic, try very hard to spray at the same angles. I'll explain... I stripped and resprayed my daughter's Uno in metallic blue a while ago. The car frame, much like your's in the last pics, was painted seperately and the doors and bonnet were off the car on drums. Although I painted everything at the same time, with the same paint, it did not match properly after re-assembly. The metallic particels in the paint have to set and dry at the same angle when you spray the door and mudguard, for example.

Better yet - do it like the professionals.

Spay the 'inside' - engine bay, door shuts etc. (anything that would be covered and made inaccessible by the panels) in colour.

Fit all doors and panels. Adjust all the panel gaps and shut lines so eveything is aligned and neat and even.

Spay edges and backs, wrapping paint around the edges to the 'outside'.

Close doors, bonnet and boot. Paint all the exterior bits. Treat entire areas, like the whole side of the car, a single item when spraying.

Ok Motor is starting to come together, put the stuff I could together as they were gathering dust.

Ok got some work done on the body side skirts and front spoiler.

I know this is not to the liking of most die hard Ford fans but the spoiler kit has grown on me from the first time I saw it 15yr back on the car and I will try my best not to make it into the Zef-Spotting tread.

Some more body work done, still a lot to do before I am happy with it.




Need to fit the motor and gearbox to see how much clearance I have with the carbs and trumpets and filters so did some port matching and painting of the heads.


now need to fit the gaskets and torque ever thing up.

Redone the 2 X 38 Weber Carbs and mocked up my V8 Filter.

Not sure if I should run a single V8 Filter or run two separate square filter on the carbs? Any opinions?
