Thank you John.

I see now what Paul meant.

The misalignment is discreet, but still wrong ! 8O

Paul and I disagree about this - a proper Perana has offset exhuasts!

LOL, I can see where the disagreement comes from.

Personally I like things to be lined up perfectly.

But, if one wants to keep an original setup, the imperfection must stay !

Let me not start any arguments !

All Capris with factory dual exhaust systems (i.e. 2000GT & 3000GT) have the offset exhausts.

Hi Guys, sorry for the late reply.

Neek, I don't have a pic of my car directly from the the rear but it was the same as ZAP's car.
As John rightly says all genuine Perana's had the offset exhaust but I personally don't like it. If you wanted to check my car all you need to do is put your fingers up under the valance and feel where I added in some metal to alter the position of the cutout. I left it deliberatly like this in case this argument came up. Anyone who knows their Perana's will know mine is not a fake there are plenty more signs.

I've never seen a factory duel exhaust right to the back with seperate twin tail pipes. The only setup I know is duel pipes to two silencers then over the axle to a single twin pipe silencer coming out on the left cutout so I can't comment there.
My first Capri 3000L pictured below had duel symetrical exhausts but I assumed they were a modification. Yes, that's me with the dogey 80's hairstyle.

Cheers

Howzit Paul,

The disagreement about the exhausts is amusing, but both sides are correct in their thinking ! :)

The car in the pic looks awesome and I particularly like the V8 pipes saying hello at the back. :)

I had pipes fitted last year, with similar positioning to the ones in the pic, and yes, I was at the back with the tape measure keeping a close eye on the exhaust fitter.
Luckily for me, he did a brilliant job. :D

Your hairstyle reminds me of the 70's group, Slade. Remember them ?

I wanted to say Freddie Mercury, but that might start something off again !

Laterz.

Hi Neek, yeah that was my first car and I loved it. It was sold after my divorce to a lad in PE and I heard from friends living there that he pulled it through his arse. I'm glad I never saw it again.

I got your pm but couldn't reply, I'm sure you know what I mean.

Cheers Buddy.

I've finally finished the work on 'Bosses' Perana and have delivered it and collected mine from him.
Now I've got to remember what I was going to do next. ;)
I'll be updating as I go along again.

Cheers

Paul, well done. Is the car now at John Culver's?
