Re: BMW e30 320i project.
I will certainly keep you guys updated as I go, I wasn't really sure if this would be of much interest on here as it's not a muscle car but I'm pleased with the reaction so far. Parts seem to be readily available locally and from Germany and USA so I shouldn't have too many problems.
Cheers

Just in case you didn't know, there is a dedicated E30 site here in SA too.paulusvrotius1 wrote:...There are also a few forums dedicated to the e30, here and in the states.

Both bmwmaniac on this site and I are moderators on the forum...go take a look, it has a wealth of information from model specs to styling to suspension to stroker motors and everything in between.
Your car has surprisingly little rust for a UK car, Paul...congrats on laying your hands on such a clean example!

Some more goodies for the rebuild.
Yes the glove box and under-dash trim panels were missing, don't know why? Still looking for the trim panels.

Some essential reading matter and a cool model given to me by the guy I bought the car from.

Re: BMW e30 320i project.
Hi all,
Just a short update to the work on the e30, I replaced the missing rear screen trim with a new one and dyed the grey carpet I bought to replace the knackered original. I have also tracked down a nice set of black door cards to complete the black interior.
I have also replaced the door and boot locks as the ignition key didn't fit any of these and I can now lock and unlock the car from any of these. I will also be fitting a remote system, just because it's nice to have and the car does have central locking on the doors, boot and fuel filler flap.
Oh yes, I had just finished the carpet when a bird flew over and had to make it's mark. Typical!!

Managed to source a genuine BMW intake rubber coupling from Germany to replace the very dilapidated and taped up one on the car.
