Gunter,Gunter wrote:If its a genuine 20m RS, it must have the 3.0L essex motor in. Most tell tale items say its an RS...boot and cubihole badges, high back RS seats, correct bonnet and black out - more or less correct side stripe( the black, not the white stripe), you have the correct centre console gauges, angled to face the driver. You can pm me your reg docs vin and engine number - i will compare it to the 2 x genuine RS's i had....if i remember correctly, the engine number starts with EC...then a few digits.
here is the Engine no... EC0670M

Aha, OK! The imprint left by the gasket threw me off. Well then there is no reason not to keep this old girl period and matching engine correct, they are so scarce now. True "period" mods would be the branches and twin pipes, MV1 or similar cam and a chrome "pancake" aircleaner. More serious guys made up spacer/adaptors for the intake to fit 4-brl Holley's (or whatever other big carb they could get their hands on).bluelightning wrote:still got the matching Intake....
Re: Ford 20M RS......
Engine number seems more or less inline with what it should be
RACECAR spelt backwards spells RACECAR.....
Re: Ford 20M RS......
I seem to remember the underseat tag verifying if it is a RS.
