I am back...

Last few weeks we have been working on the floor but not much to see picture wise to get excited about so I have not posted much.

Anyway now I have some updates to show and report. We are winning slowly and going forward nicely now !

Frame rails welded in with transmission support installed and painted.

Next I matched the underside of the floor to that of a section of the old floor where I found the old Ford "slop Grey" paint. I matched the paint colour and painted it. You will see this when looking underneath the car 8O

Then took the floor out again and marked and drilled the new floor. Did not count but over a 100 holes drilled I am sure...  Cleaned off the paint from areas to be plug welded and all ready to be installed... whohoooo

This is what my brand new floor looks like from underneath. I am loving it. Was quite uncertain if I should have patched or replaced but now I am very glad we replaced the entire floor like this.

Then yesterday was a big milestone day for me.. we finally finished off the floor, all painted and ready to move on to next stage..

Happy days... :D :D

Next we will build a cart/trolley to mount the body to so that we can move it around do all the body work, fit panels, align gaps etc etc. The car when ready will then be able to be wheeled up onto a trailer or flatbed and go for final painting in a booth it will then come back and be assembled. Way down the line but it helps to plan ahead.

The cart will need to mount to the original production line mounting dolly points under the car. This will allow me to replicate the paint finish and effects required. Basically where the car was mounted during assembly line process resulted in the dolly points not getting any paint leaving round circles. So thats what I will be doing.

Love the picture of the original assembly line and like that you will utilize the exact Assembly holes but have to make a specialized trolley to fit these!
Now that's the way of doing it

Floor looks awesome!
