WANTED: Auto Trimmer/Upholsterer in Durban or Pmb?

Post by Can-Am ZN » Wed 22 Oct 2014, 11:09

Hey all,

I'm in need of a really good & highly recommended auto trimmer in the DBN/PMB area to recover my seats. Highway Auto Trimmers and Cabriolet Auto Trimmers aren't what they used to be.

Am currently searching for the correct material...any pointers will be most welcome

As you can imagine, the seats have got to be just right :!:

Thanks in advance :D

Yep, the covers are still the original material, albeit torn and shredded :D

Strangely, the centre portion material on the front seats is different to that used on the back seat. The outer vinyl portions (bolsters etc.) seem to be the same though. Not sure if other Can-Am owners have noticed the same anomaly?

I tend to keep it that way, as it seems that it was just another one of those wacky Can-Am "quirks"

Ta, that's great! No, no rush at all.

I'm still having the "pap" cushions remade and is turning out to be more challenging than I thought :!:

Battled to find someone who was willing to give it a go...just hope it turns out like I want.

Gavin, my original seats are stored in my garage at the track and are in pretty good nick. If I get out there this weekend I'll unwrap them and take a gander at the difference between front and back centre pieces. If not this weekend, hopefully in the course of next week. I'll take some pics. Also want to shoot pics of the Personal rims I have there ( 2 x sets) as I may dispose of one set.

That'll be great, thanks Anton :D

Sounds like yours are still in good nick. If so, how did they escape the harsh effects of many years use and the basic corrosive elements of mother nature?

Hi to all

The rear seats were all rexine while the front had cloth inserts.
A logical explanation could be the addition, or rather replacing of the opel gt front seats. GM most probably did not see the
necessity to change the already covered rear seat.
