Maverick, it's been a long time since I've been on this forum and what a great thread to find. Your attention to detail is fantastic and the many pics of the resto along the way makes this thread really stand out. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words so this thread would be a very large book if the pictures were converted to words.

My GT will be back on the road one day when I have the time to restore it. I just love that I had the chance to use it for a few years as an everyday driver while I lived in S.A.

Keep up the good work.

Hit a bit of a speed bump on this.

Steering wheel sent for refurb 2 months ago, still not back.
I cannot take it to TNT for the exhaust if I cannot turn it.

Water temp sender unit not working - waiting for a replacement from Aussie.

The package of stuff ordered from Aussie landed yesterday, including radio and other bits and bobs.

The wait to finish this is killing me.

This build is the ONLY reason I log onto the VW forum. Bro you have no idea of how I wait for updates on this build

Words cannot explain how you have inspired me

All thats left now is steering wheel, fit radio (pic below), have exhaust made up and then start. And it's done.
