Please help me somebody....

Post by gordini » Wed 25 Sep 2013, 20:46

I manufactured myself a little soda blaster over the long weekend. Works very lekker and do the job.Especially if you blast aluminium or polished items. Nice for cleaning rims as it does not damage the paintwork. Want to see what it does to carbs and gearbox casings.

But...to buy 500g packages from SPAR is a costly exercise. Where in RSA can i buy this bicarb in bulk. :?: :?: :?:
Anyone with more experience on the blaster itself...i'm all ears ;) ;) ;)

Blastrite

They are in the Waterfront harbor area and sell blasting soda.
I paid about R200 or so for a 20kg bag.

Hi all,
I've been toying around with the idea of Soda Blasting for a while now.. went the DIY route and then decided to take the plunge.. I’m in Soda Blasting full time!
It is amazing at what can be achieved with this equipment. Started small with carburetors, mag’s, complete engine ect. Recently did a 1974 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia... Have a look at some pics of the items we did(http://www.sicblast.co.za)
I met and know quite a few restorers and if anything it is about “PERFECTION”
Soda Blasting will assist with that, taking you down to the bare metal.. I now it is a niche technology in this country but do give it a try..

There is not a lot of us doing it full time, 2 in the Cape, 1 close to Durban and I think another 1 or 2 in Gauteng.

Good luck out there

Hi sicblast. Thanks for the info. Can you please introduce yourself in the introduce yourself section.

Also where are you? You need to have a word with your website designer - I could not find an address!
