So-called expert never pitched! Stripped everything and started to re-build! Then I remembered the golden rule of Hydraulics!! Always prime the master cylinder before bleeding! I have brakes!! This perhaps the most common cause brakes wont bleed!!Johann66 wrote: ↑Wed 27 Sep 2017, 20:13My next issue is the brakes of the Opel! Calipers are working well but the hydraulics are terrible! I suspect that some of the pipes are blocked as I cannot get the fluid to flow through! Can I put pressure on the pipes after disconnecting them from the cylinders?

Hi Johann
The Opel is really looking good. You are very creative with all that you have done to her.
I think all our classics are lifetime projects, mine is anyway

Re: 1965/66 Opel Rekord L Rally GMSA
I have managed to get half the brakes operational! There is something wrong with the rear brakes! Closed the rear brake line at the master cylinder. Regained brake pressure and the front brakes are deadly!! I will have to check the rear brake lines to find why there is not enough pressure! Fortunately the front brakes are working very well and stops immediately.Johann66 wrote: ↑Tue 03 Oct 2017, 14:38So-called expert never pitched! Stripped everything and started to re-build! Any thoughts on the rear brake lines?

Re: 1965/66 Opel Rekord L Rally GMSA
Left rear brake line has a kink preventing pressure build up! Will replace the line tomorrow! See Pic! Front suspension now ok with C65 filled ball joint.Johann66 wrote: ↑Sun 08 Oct 2017, 18:18Johann66 wrote: ↑Sun 08 Oct 2017, 18:16I have managed to get half the brakes operational! Did it get bumped when working close to the line? If I recall correctly you were very happy with the brakes in the past. Hope it restores the brakes to your satisfaction.
