Johann did that car have the 4 cylinder or the 6 cylinder? I saw one last year that had the 6 cylinder. Looked ok but sounded really nice. I was so jealous because mine was standing on blocks.

Morning,
It was absolutely original with the 2.5 four cylinder, the Weber downdraft and the matching inlet manifold. Genuine top speed 173kmh!! We did not build a six cylinder. There were some imported 2.8 liter Commodore's I recall a blue one we had at GM's product engineering. Always check the VIN plate that will tell you what was the original engine. I can be wrong :?:
Why did I sell the SS??? :( Because I lost my temper!! Die Dorfling bloed 8O 8O )

Good Morning, I remember when my farther worked in Thabazimbi, one of the guys at work bought a brand new Ranger SS, a purple one. My farther arranged a spin in it. We went 160 and it was the time of my life !!

Alfa GTV 3.0
Ford Capri Perana V8
Chevy Lumina Supercharged

Wait not for tomorrow to do what can be done today, live each day for one knows not what the next day may hold.

You sure? Think it was the Rekord L.

Rekord Sprint had a 2500 4 cyl and a couple of stripes option like the Ranger SS. Probably same motor as Ranger withe their starters in a different location to the later 2500's used in Chev's.

@VMX. Mine is the Rekord L and it came with the 2,5 engine.

@ Burt. Do you know if the doors have glass in them?
The drivers side roll-up window is the one I've been looking for for almost a year. Have you perhaps got a number for them?

The sprint was the forerunner of the ranger and was phased out with the arrival of the ranger. Recall the twin stripes :D Had the red engine as opposed to the grey HO engine.
