He made a few, but not production. I took some photos of one at BGs house if you are interested.

Thanks --please do , its purely out of interests sake-the xflow engine has always been a favourite--despite its drawbacks, and the various engineering projects that were tried on it--the one offs and low number ones are the ones that really interest me.I remember learning of the Meissner conversion in my twenties--about 20 years after it was done.Took me awhile to find enough bits and pieces to put together a (nearly) complete kit only to realise it was a mis-match of the 2 or 3 types.Did any one run a BG kit in a car?--it would be interesting to see how he aproached the concept.

Doing a few small fiddly jobs on my rebuild and ran out of the gasket maker i was using---rumage through the box of odds and i found a tube of Wurth , but not the stuff i thought it was --remembered a previous posting suggested Wurth 300 which i DID buy last week as the shop had a "on special" clear-out and had a few tubes of this with out packaging--2 for 5 euro.So sorry yes , the wurth i had tried and failed with was NOT the300---just used some on my volvo diff , had the lsd swopped in and put new bearings on the shafts but forgot to order the gasket--used the 300 and its excellant stuff. If theres any more when i go back in ---buy the lot.. sorry i cant get the pics posted tried to resise in windows(paint) it just crops them down so you lose most of the shot.

Hi guys, about the Meissner ohc kits, how many versions were made :?: How many kits were made :?: My dad owned two very diffenert versions a couple of years ago, were there more than two developed :?:
Here's a small description of them...
Of what i could notice the earlier ones were more ''round'',the Meissner logo was cast across the length of the top cover, and the top cover itself had rounded corners....
Inside the box the earlier version made use of copper/brass tubing 2-3mm thick to channel oil to the cam lobes from the heads oil feed gallery, and the crank & cam gears/pulleys were larger in diameter (±15mm) than the ones of the later/more refined version....
Now to the newer one...well as mentioned it had smaller diameter pulleys, the box was very squere in shape & had a lot more ''meat'' to it,think walls etc..the top cover was squere(90 degree corners) & it had a rather small Meissner logo cast on the front right hand corner & the rest of the surface was covered with fins running from the front to the back....This version had a nicle cast round aluminium to cover the cam pulley and belt(the earlier ones were left open).
Meissner had gone away from the copper tube lubrication system with this version,as the oil galleries were cast into the casing/box which i think was genius. :D ..
In my opinion those tubes could bend/kink which will lead to a lack of lubrcation & result in seizure, but atleast Meissner did a lot of improvement/refinement ;)
Here's some pics of a Cortina currently running ''the earlier'' kit in the Joburg area

How many more are there on the road & on garage shelves?

Does any one have any knowledge or photos of the turbocharged Capri road car that Willie Meissner built to develop the turbo system that was used in the other Racing Mk 1 Escort, any specs on the Capris engine, did it run a 1300 or 1600... did it run the Meissner OHC :?:
I found these photos on an overseas forum, but they state that the photos come from South Africa....Is this the turbo motor from the racing Escort(Y151's brother)

Welcome to the forum, some interesting questions you have asked! I too have been looking for quite some time for any pics of the turbo Capri but alas havent found any. Thanks for posting pics of the conversion though, great to see some of them are still around! :)

 I've been on the forum for long ,i just never posted,& i forgot my password which doesn't help alot does it
I tried Willie Meissner Jnr himself but he didn't get back to me ,which doesn't surprise me because i'm a total stranger to him..
but i sure have a lot of interest in what his dad did
Does anyone know where i can find a Meissner 4 barrel intake for a V4 or pics of one,i want to build a period correct Anglia with a V4 !,make it ''dare to be different'' but still something someone could have built in the 60's......
