I chuckled at the Jasper sign there: we use their reman motors, trannys, T cases as well as axles at the shop I work at. :)

Hi

I haven't seen any Ford Ranchero gen5's (70-71). The one with the sharp nose. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Ranchero)
Have seen the Gen4 (XY/XW) and Gen6 with the round/oval nose.
Since most of our ranchero's came from Australia, did any of there make their way to SA at all?

I'm interested in getting one, just want to know if there are actually any of them in SA.

Gen 5 was USA/Canada only; their Fairlane/Torino body was only available in LHD.

There will be one or two imports in RSA, but they will be hard to find.

Agreed, there may be some imports but will be hard to find and probably very expensive. The main issue is there is lots out there that is easier to find and can be done up very nicely.

The bottom line is by an large GM and Ford chose to go with a mix of Aus sourced cars and not source from North America, thats why we dont have any of the North American bakkies as seen in this thread.

Talking about missing cars. My father had a 68 fairmont auto. It had a 250 straight 6 motor. The taillights where round. Of all the fairmonts on this forum I have not seen one of them.
