454 big block - engine repairs

Post by 69Camaro » Fri 24 Jun 2016, 11:46

So my 69 is standing and the motor currently with engineering shop to work on pricing for pistons, bearings, valve guides etc. According to the guys the block, crank, rods are all good - anyone can recommended a 2nd opinion for me in the Cape town area please?

If i have to redo the motor I would like to get the motor done properly and push it to the max HP!

Thanks,
Nico

I'd also get hold of Warren Lotter for a quote on a motor build, he has a great reputation and has build many a V8 and quite a few motors for race cars.He is a member of this forum, look up "Stealth".

In terms of spares, I'd phone Thundersport in Pinetown, very knowledgeable guys and good customer service.

Brandon at All Americans pricing is a lot more favorable than Thundersport. I'm in Durban and I'd rather order my parts from CPT, cheaper even with Timefreight.
