Was My Face Red!!

Post by Johann65 » Mon 02 May 2016, 15:07

I received a SMS to state that on the 30th Of April a motorshow will be held at the Republiek Primary school
Drove to the venue (1Km) and entered the arena 8O All the latest Cars, Cruiser Boats and Caravan were on display
Parked my Opel Rekord in front of My Church's stall, not to offend all the BMW, Merc, Chrysler, and all the other Dealers with their Million Dollar cars :?
Show was arranged by the Local Council and had the Mayor and guests there. 8O
Shook hands with the Mayor and his following and they all wanted to know of the Opel. 8)
Our stall's sales also picked up after a poor start, being on the edge.
I think the show was overkilled by the upper class items, out of our league!  ;)
No Photos taken, who wants the latest Mercedes Sport or Monaco type Launch!! 8) 8)

I enjoy modern cars purely for the ease of comfort and practicality . A computer that lets you know if you are over speed, how much fuel lest , how far can travel on it , the battery's condition and and and what ever the manufacturer deems is important to you the driver but , working on them is a nightmare . The older cars are tuned by ear and smell, repairs are done by repairing the broken component , body work when damaged is taken off panel beaten and replaced , what more would you want from a car .
