No problem Oom Johann. I am glad it found a good home. I just need to test the rest and sell them. I got a Pioneer 4-track in my garage with plenty cassettes and use it every day.
Rassie.

Thanks! Turned knobs from hard wood and from memory
The knobs used to have fixing screws on the side not press on fit!
Suggestions as to spraying Black or Mirror Chrome??
Other Coating perhaps!!

For 'temporary' knobs; those silver looking ones in the above pic do look 'factory'.

Very nice those old radios, my 1978 Escort still has the original RALLY FM radio fitted and it still works.
The new thing in the US and Europe is taking these old original car radios and fitting modern internals with MP3, Bluetooth, USB etc but keeping the face totally original. I went to value a 1971 Mercedes SL and the client showed me the original Becker Monza radio that he had fitted, absolutely standard looking as it was back then, but all modern inside , cost him R24k to import
Hey Rassie, maybe a market out there for doing this to the old radios, buy a radio from HiFi corp for around R500- R1000 and then use the face on from the old ones and somehow adapt to the new radio.. would be awsome

1986 Rover 3500 Vitesse (UK Import Ex London Police Car)
1983 Rover Vanden Plas undergoing conversion to race car.

The amazing thing about the Supersonic is that it is 52 yrs old, required a good cleaning and still has a good clean sound! Only work required was to use cleaning spray (Doom) to clean the volume and tone pots to stop the scratching noises! The volume is amazing!! Much cheaper than paying R24K!!
To adapt will not be easy! From analog to digital is a new mission!!
