Cape car builders

Post by IndianaJones » Sat 25 Apr 2015, 19:47

Hi guys

Which shop in Cape Town can professionally build a road legal track car, including complete paint strip, rust removal, some bodywork (arches), EFI and/or turbo engine conversion, rollcage and all safety equipment, etc, etc. from start to finish? May outsource if necessary.

Won't be an exotic brand, probably an American or British derived classic car.

Regards

I think it may be a battle to find one shop that will do it all, properly, and at a reasonable cost.

My only real (and often repeated) advice is to research your options THOROUGHLY.
This means talking to past clients, properly checking out previous work (don't be fooled by shiny 8O 8O )
etc etc.

Then compare what you find out with your expectations, budget, timeline etc etc.

I'd be talking to guys involved in racing....

I don't know Ian Viljoen, care to elaborate Hugh?

Crossely & Webb seem to me more like exotic car specialists.

Thanks for the advice Garage, the problem is the person I'm inquiring for is overseas a lot, and can not move the car between shops, thus would like one person to oversee the complete project.

Crossely & Webb have a huge classic car workshop, virtually one stop shop they can pretty much do anything from there.
