MONITOR YOUR HEALTH

Post by johan wepener » Thu 22 Jan 2015, 10:37

I have had no symptoms regarding a prostate malfanction.No pain,no swelling,no problems

to pass urine, nothing was wrong.Nothing in capital letters.

Until my gp insisted on an inspection, purely as routine. I protested. But he insisted. He was not

happy. To a urologist. He not happy. In for a biopsy in theatre.Result , I have cancer of the prostate.

We have decided on a total removal of the prostate. It has been done a few days ago.

Results out this morning --cancer has not spread outside the prostate. But, it has to be monitered

very closely for some time.I am very lucky and thankfull.

(By the way, two weeks before the scheduled prostate operation I broke my leg,in for a operation

and leg secured with ' 'n plaat'. Today I feel as if I have just returned from WW2)

I reckon that the overwhelling number of Forum members are male.

Prostate cancer is the number 1 killer amongst cancer in men. Many times it does not warn you.It

has a tendency to spread and before you know it, very difficult to cure. Like my uncle who

died 18 Desember 2014 from prostate cancer in van der Bijl )

My example is a call up to all our members----please check that prostate before it is to late.

Glad yours was sorted just in time Johann.

My 77 year old uncle was loosing weight last year and after insisting on going to the doctor it was picked up that he had a prostrate problem. Again like you he had none of the symptoms. Procedure done and he is doing much better although still on treatment. The other weird problem he has is that he has large stones in his kidneys, yet he has not pain or issues urinating.

I read somewhere that all men should have their PSA (prostrate) levels checked after 40 as the risk is that much higher now.

Here's to good health everyone :D

All the best for your recovery.

I went for my 1st Prostate exam at age 40 .
2016 Is my next round.
From Age 40 these things need to be checked. Also do a Full medical exam.

An uncle of mine lost his battle to Prostate cancer at age 44.
Both my Grandfathers passed away due to Prostate Cancer.

I would like to support the earlier comments about the importance of knowing your status. I am a cancer survivor actually cancers survivor. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1999 and in 2001 with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. The reason I am able to share this experience is that the two cancers were diagnosed at their early stages and that is why, I think, I am still alive. My PSA is 00.01 since 2000. I know this because I undergo medical check every year.I am a living example that "CANCER CAN BE CURED" but it has to be attended to at its earlier stage.
One other reason I wanted to comment on this post is that in one of my American trips, I came across an Classic Car Show in California called: CRUISING FOR A CURE. This was initiated by a lady who lost her husband through prostate cancer. I have attached a link that will give more information on this important show and I keep on wondering why it cannot be done in South Africa in order to enlighten and encourage our fellow men to check their status.
I would welcome thoughts on this matter.

I'll be 58 this year. To be honest; I really don't want to know if I'll come down with some 'internal' cancer since both my parents were diagnosed with it, because I WON'T consent to going under the knife.

I've posted a previous ad before about a multivitamin i'm promoting. it has a super fruit called mangosteen which has over 43 Xanthones which kills cancer cells. this multivitamin has cured n shown remarkable results in cancer n tumor patients. it is 100% natural with no side effects.

just google mangosteen studies. or check out my website yaseenparker.vemma.com
