Dodge Polara

Post by JaySmith » Sat 30 Nov 2013, 07:53

I have an option on a 4 door Dodge Polara and I was wondering if you got the 2 door version in SA? And how much effort it would be to change a 4 door to a 2 door?

Hi what year model is the polaris? Importers back then believed south africa was very conservative and very rarely imported 2 doors.

We didn't get the '64 Dart here. I've been a fan of the 413cid Dart forever & haven't seen an example here or even a standard Polara coupe.

If there's an extra body then you should feel free to experiment with the donor body. I doubt there's any aftermarket body parts available for the 2 door or any old Mopar.

If you concerned about the conversion not adding up, as they weren't offered as 2 dr right hook, it won't. It will however be awesome to look at  they were very popular on the yankee drag strips before the smaller Cuda's appeared.

Have u seen the bodies? What condition are they? Sounds like a awesome deal. What engines are coming with the cars? If u want and need more info on the polara models, check wikipidiea on google. I found alot of info on my 62 dodge dart. Wish you success on your project. Would love to see them, being a mopar man and all.

Hint: apparently the A body RHD Valiant PS gear is almost plug n' play into a 1962-65 B body (Polara, etc.).

Too; those two bodyshells might just be worth having for the parts to do mirror image RHD conversions along with additional sheetmetal, etc. on a left hook import. :)
