300C SRT8 thoughts

Post by SA351GT » Fri 25 Oct 2013, 11:31

There aren't many options for new "muscle" cars. The german "muscle" is over priced and that leaves the Lumina or 300c SRT8.
Styling is a bit loud but overall seems like good value for money. PDC front and rear, 19 speaker sound system, rear view camera, navigation, loads of space etc etc all as standard. and not forgetting a 6.3 Hemi
Resale is extremely poor though. New list is R689k - this 2012 model is retailing at 465k

Any opinions or experience with these cars (the new spec)?

I would drive one in a heartbeat.

I think people are way too caught up in foreskin dick technique and all that rubbish - there's not really anything like a bad car these days (unless it's some cheapy fongkong shitbox). The 300c is very handsome and comfortable and it's quite muscular and it will last a long time.

Just do it!! I would advise to borrow/buy an OBD scanner, and read the error codes on the vehicle.
Test drive with entertainment off, listen for diff whine etc. Is this one the 8 auto?
Nice informative forum specific for C300's: http://www.300cforums.com/forums/ Do your

I went for a veeeery fast test drive in the new SRT 300 c with the Mopar induction option.
It may have 4 doors, the interior maybe super kak quality.
But for a car so heavy it $&@s off very very hard, it corners and stops well too. Bang for your buck as far as new cars go its a bargain. Go try it out. Even if you just pretend to be interested. Nothing like a Hemi!

I sat in the first edition 300c and the interior didn't strike me as being disturbingly low-rent. Not nearly as tasteful or classy as the euro stuff but its easily as good as the aussie imports I reckon. I could forgive a lot, having that monster engine and eff you attitude it brings to the table. :)

Bro, go buy the darn SRT... If I had the dosh, I'd have been driving the hell out of one every day! I do prefer the previous gen styling, but let's not get fussy...

Very nice cars, good value for money and priced very competitive. Only problem buying one of these is you will have to drive it forever because you will never get your money back on it.
I myself have been eyeing one of these!

I'd rather buy the Cherokee SRT 8 but that's just me.....

Why be picky? Take both... One for tar roads, the other for dirt. Win-Win  I love the Grand Cherokee SRT's sound. And it looks mean as f@$# :D
