Hi All
We are planning a trip to Cape Town from Durban in Nov to the Dusty Rebels and the bombshells rockabilly festival which is in November. The thinking is to get like minded people together and transport cars and bikes down to CT from Durban. We will then attend festival and drive back to Durban through the garden route over 4 days. We are about 4-6 cars as it stands and about 6 bikes.
Any suggestions on transport to get our toys down there ? Train, car carrier, any ideas who can manage a group booking at a great rate?
Anyone keen to join you are also welcome...!

With recent FB photos of carrier on fire after Knysna Hillckimb I shudder to consider this one....

I had to sort out transport for a group of friends and myself last year when we wanted our cars and scooters at a festival farther down the coast. We looked at trains but in the end went with a multi-car carrier, mostly because organizing everyone’s schedules was a hassle otherwise, and you can load up bikes too if you plan ahead. Having someone handle the whole batch together definitely made it easier and the price for a group was better than individuals organizing by themselves. You might want to look into group shipping deals for car and bike transport. A-1 Auto Transport can sometimes put together custom plans for mixed vehicle groups, so might be worth checking out what options they offer if you’re after something both reliable and coordinated.
