Thanks for correcting me, would it have been standard fitment for 1979?

No El Camino had double head lights in SA.They only had single 7 inch lights. The old nose or new one.

Interesting, they do look good though, with the dual headlights...

Hi ChevyWorld

Are you sure on this?
I have seen quite a few around with Deville front, Caprice front, & fewer Kommando front?
some of them looked to be very original. I thought it was just the bakkie version of the various line extensions...
interesting..

I love el caminos.., pity I cant fit behind the steering of one due to bierpens 8O .. they shoulda made that tilt steering.

cheers

Jip 100% sure they just bolt on so very easy to change.
That's why I have a small racing tips steering wheel and
Power steering on mine.
No Elcamino came with power steering only 3 engines a
Holden 202cid a Chev 4.1 and a Holden 308 and all were 3
Speed steering gears or automatic on steering column never
Floor shift or even 4 speed.

Yeah I have the steering shift 4100 version. Shape more of the Holden Kingswood version.

From what I have picked up not many of this shape here. Had a power steering with odd brackets. Managed to get the "original" brackets but still not 100% comfy with them.

Any suggestions on getting some speed out of the 4100?
