1974 Chrysler or Dodge or Valiant?

Post by IndianaJones » Thu 05 Feb 2015, 21:51

Saw this advertised on Gumtree for R30000 running and licensed...

It is advertised as a 1974 Dodge Coronet, which it definitely is not.

I looks like a Valiant Regal, but has Dodge badging, what is it? Fanie?

Wonder whether it has a Slant 6 or V8?

Def a VH (1972) onwards 'wide body' Mopar A body. It only offered in RHD format: apparently we in the USA/Canada and other left hook markets were slated to get this bodyshell in LHD; but, the 1967-71 bodystyle proved to be so popular here that it was continued to 1976 and 1981 in Brazil!

Saw this on Gumtree...

1974 Dodge SE

No price given

Info from the ad:
"1974 Dodge SE (Special Edition) - by Chrysler

This vehicle was built for the Executive Class between '72-74.

There were only 652 produced in "74 and to date I have only ever seen one other one in SA.

These Australian Chrysler by Chrysler Valiant bodies were imported into South Africa, by Chrysler South Africa, and assembled in Vryheid South Africa and rebranded the Dodge SE.

I am the 3rd owner, bought it from a car collector who never had the opportunity to restore her back her to former glory.

She drives beautifully, and is 100% Roadworthy and licensed.

Over time I have made some great contacts sourcing only original parts throughout the restoration mostly from Chrysler in Adelaide Australia."

Not a factory option after 1969 in any A body but a very clean 383 swap. :)

Hi, I recently bought one of these. A 1974 Dodge SE for thirty five K. Its going to be a project, it needs a lot of work on the interior but otherwise its not too bad. Its running hot at the moment but hopefully thats just timing or the radiator. If anyone out there has parts, let me know.
