Mk 1 Capri Wiring Diagram

Post by irpac » Thu 20 Jan 2011, 23:33

Hi, does anyone have a wiring diagram for a 1600 Mk1 Capri, the 2L & 3L diagram will be similar as well. Plse contact me if you have any info w.r.t the wiring, I will pay for a manual or scanned copies etc.

Many thanks

That wiring diagram should be the same as the MK1 Escort. Most of the instruments and switches are the same on both cars.

I have what you need - give me an email address to send to. I tried mk1 Escort looms and they have differences that will mess you up.

Marius, I got a bit confused there at first didn't realise you and Vish both wanted them - all done and sorted. Enjoy.

I thought Chris would rise to the challenge.

Note that there are slight differences between the diagrams Chris sent you, and cars built in ZA.

Off the top of my head - bulkhead connecter pin ordering is different (You can't plug half a UK loom onto half a ZA loom without modifications), I think the taillight loom is slightly different, reverse lights wired slightly differently, probably a few other minor issues.

Also there are a few minor drawing errors on the diagrams. But neither should stop you from working out what is going on. Just helps to know that when you see your car's loom doesn't match exactly.

Any questions, just ask, it is all fresh in my mind from modifying the loom on A2 Replica.
