Post by BIGSIX » Thu 07 Oct 2010, 09:00

Hi I bought oil from RS PERFORMANCE.
Give them a ring.

Also there was a old thread aboit oil. Some guys is using Diesel engine oil. Rotella . The red container, think viscosity of 20w40. Seeing as cast iron blocks have higher heat than most modern aluminum engines. The diesel oil is better suited to cast Iron blocks.

Not sure about Auto boxes. I use normal Red ATF.

Thanks,

Phoned RS and they have a oil that they had made up with some extra additives, they said the only other oil that I should use is Shell Rimula R3X as it still has most of the additives in that the V8 needs.

Will be checking the local spareshop for the oil.

I just knew that the Ford vs Chevy banter was on its way!!

What's the service intervals for the V8's, every 15000km, 10000km or 5000km??
