C4 transmission oil

Post by Corno » Thu 18 Jun 2020, 12:18

Hi

I have a Ford C4 transmission which was rebuild in 2016. I have lost transmission oil because of a leak. I see that type F transmission oil was used originally in the C4 transmissions. It seems that type F is not available at Midas or Autozone anymore. I am also not sure what kind of oil is currently in the transmission. Can I use dextron II to top up the oil level?

Regards
