Post by RASSIE » Tue 06 Feb 2018, 05:22

Hi to all members. Now I need to ask for advice. I want to make a mold of a GT shaker. Any advice welcome to start to make a mold. I got release agent, gel coat, fiber glass and cobra wax. How do I make a mold?

My fibreglass supplier is AMT Composites in Johannesburg.

They supply a silicone mould kit.

This allows you to cast a silicone mould of the piece.
Once cured, the silicone mould easily removes from the master.
You can then cast the piece out of fibreglass resin and once cured you are left with an exact copy of the piece that you made the mould of.

AMT can explain the correct procedures for this as well.
