Ford Escort Mk2-2-door 1600 Sport tag interpretation

Hi.. I'm in the UK and have just purchased a mk2 escort which has been imported from South Africa. I'm struggling to get a build date from the VIN number and wondered if you could help. the VIN number starts CX AT VM and I understand the VM denotes year and month of build but can't find what they translate to.
Any help would be much appreciated - thank you...

Also, second line on VIN has the following:
Engine D
Trans N
Axle blank
Trim OL
Paint OA

Are you able to decode any of these?

I do not unfortunately... Top right-hand corner, search "Ford VIN".... it came back with 18-page results.

Hopefully you find what you are looking for, or an expert chime in?

Are there any official bodies, clubs or such that can provide this data in writing as I need this to request an age related UK registration.

Engine D = 1600cc 63kW
Trans N = Floor shift 4 speed Manual
Axle blank
Trim OL 0 = Single color interior trim, L = I don’t have a “L” reference for 1979, or any other year
Paint OA 0 = Monotone, A = Raven Black (non-metallic)

8 years ago I posted the South African Escort decode info on the Ford Escort RWD & RS Owners Club of South Africa forum http://www.fordownerssa.co.za/
Since the Escort isn’t a muscle car, it seemed more appropriate, but that board seems to no longer exist.

Try contacting Roy Gouws on there, perhaps he might be able to assist with a letter. Unfortunately I don’t have any other contact info for him.
