HI Steve,

It has a tag under the driver's seat. However it should read 2000GT and not Perana.

Hope this helps.

At a guess I wouldn't imagine more than two dozen made, at the very most because the official Ford Cortina 3.0 XLE arrived soon after the Cortina Perana was developed.

I have never seen one in SA.
Alfa GTV 3.0
Ford Capri Perana V8
Chevy Lumina Supercharged

I'm adding this here, as the car in the following advertisement, has the same BG Motors plate, as the car discussed above.

1972 Ford Cortina Perana (Supercharged 302 V8, TCI Auto)

R200000
Far from original. Apparently signed by Basil Green...

Huge pity, the V6 taken out, replaced by a V8.

When I see this I really wonder why there is this huge trend here to NOT restore but rather resto mod any originality out of cars.

I must admit to considering putting a v8 into my mark three but only considered it for a short while lol
My car is going into a restoration show at the beginning of March so ile post all the pictures on here
I've also been in contact with some Granada perana owners here in the uk as they have a stand at this show so again ile post some pictures
Hopefully my perana will be going for a resto after this show and I'm glad to say that I have decided to go original even down to the colour even though I don't like Daytona yellow lol

Best thing to do Steve.

This Perana used to be a beautiful PiriPiri car until they butchered it.
