The black crossmember is a reproduction one and the silver one was made for a Mazda van, made from 4mm steel plate and needs mounts fabricated.

I have a soft spot for these Mazda's, only ever seen one on the road and it was an special sight, totally orignal example with orginal wheels.

By chance I have found a Capella Rotary....not for sale but will keep my eye on it! Idea would be to paint it that pale yellow colour...
Alfa GTV 3.0
Ford Capri Perana V8
Chevy Lumina Supercharged

Wait not for tomorrow to do what can be done today, live each day for one knows not what the next day may hold.

My first one was that yellow Gunston type colour that they came out standard with.I used to see the car at Killarney curcuit in the 80s and it was always parked in Voortrekker RD in Parow at some steakhouse.I have driven some other rotaries before but when I got this one finished with the modified motor it was real smooth power unlike piston engines.Over here Rotaries are still big and we have some real fast cars ranging from 2rotor to 4rotor monsters.Cheers

Hi Madrx. Thank you for the pics of the crossmember. Yes it seems to a simple design that can be home fabricated with basic tools and a MIG welder. I will have a word with the owner and let you know. Thanks for the help!

The soughted crossmember be for a Savanna Rx-3! There were two cars imported in the early seventies to compete in the SAF Springbok 9 Hour endurance races. One car has survived because it was turned into a rally car. The other one we do not know... I was hoping to find a Rx-4 crossmember but this also proved to be very difficult.

If you are restoring an rx3, its best to stick to the original type parts if that is what the owner wants.I can get RX3 parts but it depends on the owners budget as the guys who got parts know they are getting difficult to find. You can PM me it you want and I can find out some prices.
