Hi Hubert how are you doing, Nice to hear from you, now I know who you are on the Forum.

was chatting to some friends and it seems everyone knows you, :D

Will chat to you soon again as I have got part numbers to match up so I can purchase some more items from you.

I have another Friend Willem who has a nice DKW pillarless Coupe, apparently bought some globes from you at PR a while back and told me all about your DKW's, small world in the classic car circles.

Cheers

Gavin Gavin Gavin!!! What a stunning car you've got!! I'm sure you'll soon get tired of it. Send it to CPT to compliment my black VDP!! What's the condition of the SDS you're thinking of flogging and how much?

Hi Rod.
Thanks. I am fetching the car next week and will take a whole lot of decent photographs and post up as the pictures that were sent to me are not very clear. Cant wait to drive it :D

The other Rover I bought has unfortunately been off the road for 15 years but it was still used . anyway it is a 1982 SDS V8 5speed, was resprayed red, original colour was the light metallic green. tyres are still good on original alloys.
I want to service the car soon and clean and sort out the SU carbs. I need to replace the fuel pump and tidy up the wiring. interior needs work I have a lot of spares that can go with the car, probably ask around R15k. I will take a few photos of it. When my race car is finished I thought that this car might be a good car to sell as a project historic race car. My Rover is the only one racing at present and I am hoping more people might get the idea to do another race Rover, I can still get most parts from the UK anyway. It might also be a good restoration project as it is a solid car.

Very nice, was always a pity we didn't get the later models in SA.

Hi There John .it was a pity, only 1 Vitesse that I have seen in SA and its in PE.

Rod, I cant wait to get back on track, my car will turn heads and surprise people next year that's for sure.

My new Rover will be towing the race car so that should be fun arriving at the track :D

The other Rover could be turned into a group 1 car as it is a series 1 SD1

Hi Rod, not quite as exiting when I saw all the parts that went with the car, a friend of mine Brad has an LDV Van and helped me to fetch the car and the parts, we filled that van with parts.

I have cancelled 2 orders I was going to bring in from the UK as I have boxes and boxes of new parts mostly still new in Austin Rover and Rimmer Brothers boxes and packets, some items I have 2 or 3 of the same thing which is great as I have 3 Rovers :D , items like 3 pairs of brand new headlights, 2 pairs front indicator units , complete walnut wood trim for the doors and dash, my race car needs that as the wood has started to delaminate, brand new steering rack and pump, 4 sets of control arms, switches brakes and the list goes on indicator/wiper complete units, and the list goes on. There is even some series 1 parts so I can use them on the 82 Rover SDS that I also have

I complied a quote on the Rimmer Brothers website of the parts that are still available and ended up with just on GBP4,000 and that's before shipping and duties etc to SA, so at the current exchange rate it is over R100k worth of parts. some of the parts are no longer available anymore so I have not added those values.

Will take a whole lot of pics this weekend as well as putting up some new phots on the race car, the body prep is nearly done so the paintwork will be done soon

So for R30k for the car and everything Christmas came early :D
