Rover Van Den Plas

And so the motor is being stripped & the fun begins. As we move along swiftly like a herd of migrating Wildebeest, we'll decide what to do. Considering some very nice upgrades but unfortunately costs dictate.

Hey Gavin
Haven't been here in a while.
Update re the rebuild? She's been completed & running relatively well but I'm not happy with one or two things. I'm getting a tapping noise that could be a sticky lifter? And then what's even worse is she's spitting oil from the exhaust which tells me there's a broken oil ring am I correct? Sadly the old boy who did the motor and who really is an expert is actually too old and ailing badly. So ja I'm kinda stumped. Your thoughts? I'm fearing the worst that I'll have to get someone else to open her up again. Otherwise I'm doing a few minor bits on her as is required. Need to get a windscreen, then respray etc. Don't forget to let me know when you get tired of your Vitesse.

Hi Justin

I am not sure which engineering shop can do the sleeves in SA but speak to Dick Crosby, he has just done a complete 4.6build and should be able to give you more info,
His cell is 082 774 9102

Another friend of mine has a brand new top hat sleeve set with new pistons and 4.6 crank, I must find out if he wants to sell

Cheers
Gavin
