A thought. To try out a look just cover the spokes with tape.

First stretch out some masking tape between some old bits of timber or whatever. Spary the non sticky side with cheapo rattle cans. Use blue tape - it is smoother. Then cut off bits and tape away. Doesn't have to be perfect, just 'nice from far' to give you an idea of whether the colour will look nice or not.

In my head I am seeing the gold used on the spokes of original BBS style wheels years ago.

Have to agree with this, really nice wheels those and with the gold inside - WOW 8)
