Chevrolet Nomad 4ton "Truck"
Saw this advertisement for a Chevrolet truck on Gumtree, although I think they have the model year wrong...
http://www.gumtree.co.za/a-caravans-tra ... 0169545309
Anyone remember these trucks, that had similar styling to the Chevrolet Nomad?
Anyone know the years produced, by whom or any other specification, where all campervans?
Seems the one in the ad is fitted with a 4.1L engine, where all outfitted like this?
Maybe some other photos?

I've only seen one like that before and the owner told me it had a 4.1 motor in it.

Re: Chevrolet Nomad 4ton "Truck"
It actually have a 292 cid in 4.8 liter Chev long 6.
Re: Chevrolet Nomad 4ton "Truck"
It is called a Chevrolet K25.
It uses a Chevrolet K30 Chassis and diff with the 292cu in engine.
The body was a local build - presumably by the same crowd that did the Nomad.
It was built for use by the Airforce in those days and fitted in as an intermediate below the Bedford troop carrier.
In Army vernacular, it was called the Kokkerot.
Not used much, as it was MOER heavy on fuel.
A friend of mine had one that he fitted a 454 big block engine with 4L80 box to - for towing the Ski Boat

Thank you very much for the info.jmvv wrote:It is called a Chevrolet K25.
Were all built for army/air force use, and then later auctioned off? Or were there civilian models?
Anyone else have some more photo's?

Saw another one for sale...
1974 Chevrolet K25 (ex Military)
http://www.gumtree.co.za/a-heavy-trucks ... 0774215909
R35000
"4.9l, 6 in line", would this then be the later 292ci 6 cylinder engine, also used in the C/K bakkies?

Also known in parts of the SADF as a Chev Signal - when fitted out as mobile Com Cens. Horrible things.
