I've been struggling to decode my '74 Granada data plate - Do you perhaps have any info on the Mk1 Granada's?

My S&A = ES GF; Body = NE; R.Axle = blank??; Trim = OF; Paint = OJ.
I would love to know what the original colour was on this car as it is currently red (Sebring red); but the drivers side door has light blue on the inside, which could have been replaced or may be the the original colour.

OJ =Red.My Granada is also OJ and is red.That's all I can help you with the decoding......

Unfortunately I don't have access to the Mk1 Granada microfiche.

But an educated guess is:

S&A Source = E = Ford of Germany
Assembly = S = South Africa

Body = GF = 4 door sedan

Year of Assembly = N = 1973
Month of Assembly = E = December

Don't know why the Rear Axle code might be blank, maybe there where only one option, or if you're car is a Perana, it might have been left blank by the factory.

Trim = 0 = Monotone
Trim = F = Tan

Paint = 0 = Monotone
Paint = J = Sebring Red, as per 427TNT / Wild Tangerine (Non-Metallic, if it were a numeric code, the paint would be metallic)
