I'm afraid thats the going rate Ray. Even Johan Mills was charging R3k a year ago. I will try and find out if those towing guys I posted on the forum are still doing cheap down runs and will come back to you.mantaray wrote:Hi Guy's,

Re: my chevy must go home
I spent about two years in the vehicle ferry industry, and thats not a bad price at all.
Your not going to get better prices from the trucking industry either.
Just watch the trains, you would not believe how many brand spanking new cars has already had body work and windows replaced due to the cars on the train being thrown with rocks.
I could tell you guys stories about "brand new cars".....
Make sure you take your own insurance, or you have them insure, as standard your insurance does not cover the train/truck trip.

Hi Ray
Managed to get hold of the oke, but unfortunately the price is now R3000 incl. VAT..
The only consolation is he can load it for you today!
Cheers, Doug

If you're going that way anyway and you have/can borrow a trailer then it's cheaper.
That's how I roll. Down the hill 'cause the car won't start and the brakes don't work.
