Independance Day Celebration - Cape Town

Post by Gunter » Thu 02 Jul 2015, 20:40

I was very honored to be asked to have my Nascar at the Consular Generals Residence yesterday for there Independance Day function....the USA ambassador , Patrick Gaspard, is a great guy and was very impressed that there is a real Nascar in SA :D. Cannot get more American than Nascar and a Harley!

The very top 'Sprint cup' series in 2011. Raced by Carl Edwards who tied on points for the championship in 2011 with Tony Steward. Steward was declared 2011 champion as he had more 'wins'. Carl was therefore 2nd overall in the championship

Was lucky enought to meet Carl and my 'all time hero' Richard Petty earlier this year at the Nascar race in Vegas.

When i told Carl i have 1 of his '11 cars in South Africa....he stopped dead in his tracks... his comment was "WOW!! thats a long long way away"
